About the Image(s)

Currently, there are restrictions on movement around the country, so I decided to practice macro photos. I found a small grove outside the city and sometimes I leave early in the morning to take a macro photo. This is an amazing and interesting world.

Your opinions?

I shoot in RAW format and process with Lightroom: basic adjustment, detail, texture, etc. Then I convert to B&W in Lightroom.Camera settings: Sony a7r III. ISO 400, 1/125s, f/10, 90mm, lens: Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OOS.I used a flash.

Israel,

You have an amazing macro shot IMHO. The leaf texture, the morning dew, the contrasting texture of the spiral snail shell and the dark eggs give me eye something to study. I like the crisp foreground focus and background falloff. An fyi is to consider darkening the leaf some on the RHS so it doesn't distract from your subject.

Regards

Israel,
I enjoyed your image. The use of light to draw the viewer's attention to right where it should be - the top of the leaf - is spot on. The clarity and texture of the leaf and the snail are excellent. Very good tonal range, which to me is important to a successful black and white image. Well done!   Posted: 05/09/2020 15:02:48

Wow! Israel, you really nailed this one! Your depth of field is outstanding, providing sharp focus on the central subjects and blurring the less important background. And, I like how you've cropped the photography.

I agree with Emil about the bright area on the right-hand-side of the leaf. It pulls my eyes away from the snail and its eggs. (At least I assume they are snail eggs.)

Very well done!

Well done Israel. You had your good eyes on to see this beauty. Good composition by showing the junction of the 2 leaves and twig and with great depth of field. I'm not bothered by the brightness of the small eggs. In fact, the eggs could very well be the subject as sume of us may have seen a small snail, but how many have seen small eggs not much bigger than the dew drops. Another great example of Israel's photo eyes.   Posted: 05/10/2020 21:17:02

Hello to all our wonderful group.

I'm very sorry that I do not answer each of you personally.
I'm a teacher in high school, now is a very difficult time, the corona virus. I teach online and exams have now begun.
I'm very grateful to all of you for advice, support, compliments.
I'm very glad that you liked my photo.
I'll tell you a secret, this snail was found by my wife, my best friend and assistant.
I walked next to this snail several times and did not see it.

Thank you all very much.
Good luck to everyone.

Israel, my daughter is also a teacher and my grandson (who lives with me) is in high school. Both of them are now doing online classes and so I see how difficult it can be... especially for the teacher. So, I really appreciate all that you're doing to get through this difficult time.

Nonetheless, your image this month is wonderful. It captures the essence of macro and of nature. My congratulations to you... and to your wife.

Take care and stay safe.

Oliver,
I'm grateful to you for your kind words and wishes.
In Israel, we began quarantine concessions.
We begin to travel to the countryside, in our small but very beautiful country.
During quarantine, I took pictures only macro and, "thanks" to the corona virus, I had a lot of time to deal with macro.

Take care of yourself and your health.

Israel, your image is a perfect 10!

You have excellent attention to detail in this image. I agree with darkening the leaf on the right, but other than that it is beautiful!

Best regards, my friend,
