March 2019 - Amy

About the Image(s)

For this image I used a main light, a fill light and a hair light. I also used an electric fan which I purchased for the purpose of blowing a models hair and maybe a skirt. When Amy arrived with her new short hairdo, I thought that this would be a good opportunity to use the fan. We kept this very simple. We decided on a close crop and a solid color top.

I love the action and the colors in her hair. The lighting is great!   Posted: 03/11/2019 20:50:49

Nice portrait of a beautiful model. The fan blown hair works, but I would have liked to see you remove the small wisp of hair that goes out of frame along the left side (top half).   Posted: 03/25/2019 18:39:59

My comment is very much in line with what Dave has written. That wisp of hair on the camera left side is definitely a bit of a distraction.

I also wonder if you might consider cropping the top of her head a bit more aggressively. Your crop is so small that it almost looks like you were a bit hesitant here and held back. If it were my shot, I might look at cropping down to where the coloured streaks just start.   Posted: 03/27/2019 11:29:01

Perfect lighting. I like very much the freezed movement of her hair. Make up is also perfect for the Picture and colors and textures for the dress Works very well. Could you please inform the speed of the shot and the diafragm?
