About the Image(s)

A few of us were playing around with some concepts in the studio. This shot of model Amanda uses a single studio light using a snoot that is shot at a set of Venetian blinds from behind. The model, Amanda, was standing the blinds and the light projected lines of light and shadows on her. This type of shot works best as a B&W, in my view.

The original colour shot, before conversion and extensive dodging and burning has been included as well.

I agree that this works best as a black and white. The lines and shadows effect is extremely well done. The conversion from color to black and white is excellent. The contrast is perfect.   Posted: 06/16/2018 08:41:55

Intimacy created with this improved window, the clothes of the model reinforce the image of a private space.
You put the model in the correct point to get light at her eyes.
Always interesting this kind of light modifier, once I found one venetian blind at an office after reworking decoration and was using it to simulate a window with flashes on the other side.
I do prefer colour one.   Posted: 06/22/2018 09:11:54

Manfred, You have created a very good monochrome image. I think the inclusion of the Venetian blinds adds to the image and your B&W conversation is very effective. The way the light hits the eyes is perfect. It's amazing the results that can be created when a few photographers are playing around rather than planning everything. Great job.   Posted: 06/24/2018 22:39:39
