Hi Isaac, wow what a class photo of boxing. The photo tells a story and you described it exactly with the title, to your corner, Knock out would also be a good title. With the image you have very good chances of success in competitions both in the division Black and White as well as PJ.   Posted: 03/06/2023 03:54:15

Thanks Hans. Interesting what you say about the image. Once in the local Camera Club the judge gave a low score because he claimed that the eyes of the man with a tie next to the Hard Rock Pole were not visible. Go and figure......   Posted: 03/06/2023 07:03:09

Hi Isaac, I have a completely different opinion than this judge. I have already judged as a judge at various competitions. For me, the photo has three essential components that are important to me as a judge, the boxer lying on the ground, the referee with his arm outstretched and the boxer going to his corner. These three form a triangular relationship for me. The photo deserves for me in any case an award HM.   Posted: 03/06/2023 07:12:16

Hi Isaac. Yes, agree what a fantastic photo from one of the traditional blood sports. I can still remember your boxing photo taken in Las Vegas and this one tells a different story. The victor is almost walking away in a contemptuous manner in the style of "I am the King" and I have just placed another opponent on the floor. Even the ref is prominent with strong pointing and arm direction to the victor, "you have not won until I complete my count". I know some will not like this photo as I have said it is a blood sport and it irks some and it can happen the judge is one of these people. The B&W is most suitable as this sport reigned supreme in B&W 1920s-1960's. A great photo.
