About the Image(s)

Title: Welsh Boxing

This was taken at an International boxing competition between three Home Nations “ Wales, England, and Scotland.

I like it as it shows the good and bad side of sport, loss and dejection vs happiness and elation.

Hi Dan, this is a different boxing photo, which I like very much. As you say correctly, the joy and dejection is clearly visible in the faces of the boxers. The height of the winner's joyful jump would be even more expressive for me if a little more of the ring floor under the winner could be seen. The picture of the 7D MKII has amazingly low noise at ISO 8000.   Posted: 09/07/2020 15:34:36

This image tells a great story - there is no denying who won and who lost and the joy on the winners face...excellent shot.   Posted: 09/07/2020 21:04:41

As you observe, the emotions that come through in this shot make a great story, and your timing the victor's leap is just right. I also like the face of the spectator between the referee and the victor -- it adds a little context to the almost all-black background.
I think there's just enough room at the bottom to straighten the image and improve the composition, and I've cropped out the left corner.   Posted: 09/25/2020 09:12:23
