Notes from Gerry:
1. I think Hans means that he was “panning."
2. Hans tells us he received the PPSA distinction on August 16, 2020. Congratulations, Hans

Hans, Nice job of panning keeping the cyclists sharp and giving the sense of motion. I would like to see more of the faces and perhaps a little more intensity. Overall a nice image. Bruce   Posted: 09/02/2020 20:47:54
Hello Hans, I like this, sharp where it needs to be a panned at the best available speed. Some Judges might say to 'leave some space to go in to' but as there are two people in the picture, it gives a sensation of speed and the chase.   Posted: 09/07/2020 13:45:40
Panning is something I am working on, so I am glad you posted this so I can see an effective image.   Posted: 09/07/2020 20:00:24

I think you've done a nice job with the panning. I like the composition as well. But you may have been just a bit late on the timing of the shot, as the cyclists are already just past your camera's viewpoint. The more "successful" images in international exhibitions usually will show the cyclists approaching, rather than moving away from, your camera.
The lead cyclist is very sharp, with just a bit of motion blur on the foot and pedal. The trailing cyclist is less sharp, but acceptable. The background blur caused by the panning is very effective. Nice shot.
