About the Image(s)

Title: Handoff-10

I shoot rugby union as a Club photographer in Wales where the game is almost religious. The Team I shoot for are in white and this player used his hand to avoid being tackled by Steffan, the player injury white (all within the rules). This is the best of a short sequence I took of that happening.

Yes! Love It! That orange glow from the background is a little disturbing at the waistline, could that be darkened a bit?   Posted: 06/11/2020 17:51:42

The action is great and captured at just the right moment. The only problem is the background. While it is nicely out of focus, the white railing, the letter "J" in the sign, and the orange and blue near the feet are all distracting. Even so, the action overpowers the distractions.

Hi Dan, great action, triggered at exactly the right moment. Unfortunately, the background is a bit disturbing, because the players are close to the spectators, even with an open aperture you have no chance to get the players away from the background better.   Posted: 06/18/2020 02:05:25

Thanks for the comments, this photograph was wired from the game so I didn't (and usually don't have) time to do too much manipulation to it.
Next month I will try and send one with a bit more editing time added.
Thank you all again   Posted: 06/19/2020 12:09:52

Dan, You captured the essence of the action. The act drama in the image out weighs the distraction of the background. I tried to crop some of it out but it makes a pretty tight crop. Great image. Bruce   Posted: 06/26/2020 11:33:34
