About the Image(s)

Rain and motorcycle create great opportunities. Keep in mind these are the US pro riders (average age 17 - 25). I have several similar photos of this rainy action but this one has faces from two racers visible.

Nikon Df (full frame though I also like the D500 crop frame) lens 70 - 200 (wish I still had my 300), 1/640, f5.6, ISO 400, with extender.

Great that you could get their faces! I can see the water splashing up a bit from the tires and of course the rain on the walls. I half expect to see the driver's knee hit the ground. Nice capture.   Posted: 03/11/2020 09:57:16

The faces and eyes really convey an intensity. I would prefer a much tighter crop. I wouldn't keep anything above the concrete wall, and would focus on just the bike. I have attached a crop for you to consider. You will find with bike racing changing the angle can really convey speed.   Posted: 03/11/2020 22:46:46

I have been cropping more for competitions however I have gotten negative reaction angling the shot as you suggest. Thanks for thought.   Posted: 03/21/2020 13:23:46

Nice image -- the faces make the shot. I agree with Diane about a tighter crop, and I agree with you about angling the crop.
I've attached an alternative crop. I added contrast and sharpened, and it looks like the image quality holds up OK.   Posted: 03/22/2020 15:04:24

Karl I agree with the others, that the faces make the image. I do like the crop eliminating the top. Bruce   Posted: 03/30/2020 15:51:52
