As usual, you've captured great action and expression, but, for me, the trailing official in the bright jersey attracts my eye more than the action.
So I saw another image -- I cropped the official and concentrated on the competition. I also brightened the image and enhanced the contrast.

Gearld, thanks for you comment. I expected to hear that the official in the frame would be distracting. It must just be a quirk of mine, I have several images with the official in them. The action signals the possibility of a foul being called and the official in the frame draws attention to that possibility. The bright shirt is certainly a factor. Your point is well taken. Often the simple composition is the strongest in competition, and I guess I'm always looking at, and evaluating, our images for the possibility of acceptance in PJ internationals (I don't necessarily look for the full story or what happens in the next photo. And I don't know enough about soccer to recognize that a foul may be called.)
Anyway ... good anticipation and nice shot.   Posted: 08/25/2019 16:16:27

Thanks Gerald, sometimes our closeness to an image can influence the choice of what we think of the image, and not always to the good. We don't take into consideration that others have not seen what the image means in our eyes. Thanks for your comments and keeping me aware of this. I coached and played soccer at a high level for many years and took over 1,000 young players around the world to international tournaments. Some of the tournaments had as many as 1,500 teams from 90 countries. I always injoy seeing your images and comments. Bruce   Posted: 08/25/2019 16:27:15
