August 2019 - Around The Barrel Again!

About the Image(s)

I went to the local chapter of the barrel racers association here in CT with a photography group of mine. I got this one because of the reflection in her sunglasses of her arm and horse ear… I do wish that truck wasn’t there though..

Canon 6D
Tamron 150-600 @ 226mm
F/7.1
1/1600

Phil, Your image is technically great with good action and subject. To bad about the truck but not much control over that.
I have shot barrel races at a local rodeo and found them very challenging. Well done Bruce   Posted: 08/08/2019 19:50:44

Seems things like backgrounds are common headaches in PJ. However you can always clone out the cab and tail lights in PID.
In summary, a great shot with the dirt and her and horses hair showing motion.   Posted: 08/21/2019 12:54:36

As Karl notes, backgrounds always seem to be a challenge in PJ. But almost un-noticeable, the dog in the lower left shadows added interest for me. I would crop the over-hanging roof edge in the upper left -- I think you can eliminate it and still keep the dog.
As for the subject -- great action, exposure is right on, the barrel is in the right place, and the sunglasses add a little "pizzaz." What's not to like?   Posted: 08/25/2019 11:01:28
