About the Image(s)

I took this in Padanaram over Christmas. Children make Christmas special.

The wonder of a child is always an interesting subject and you captured that wonder as shown in the face very well. I cropped the sides to remove the person holding the phone and to remove the black edges leaving just the child and some of the items with the lights on the racks. The Santa on the left side shows it is Xmas. I sharpend the child slightly in Topaz and then made some slight colour adjustment in Nic Viveza 3.   Posted: 03/14/2023 15:57:44

Sally, indeed a timely image. The face expression and the body language of the kid really makes the image. I agree with Ed's crop and PP   Posted: 03/17/2023 17:19:31

And where, I ask, are her shoes on a cold winter's day?? Your original crop was a great start. I agree that Ed's additional edits better help telling the story you captured. You could probably now even crop a bit from the top as well. B

Sally, I agree with Ed's crop and PP. I didn't notice that she was shoeless until pointed out by Bruce - and that even adds to the story more. I like the expression on her face and her pink/magenta clothing. Nice even lighting and blur to the image so the subject stands out. Good job!   Posted: 03/27/2023 11:41:34

It's all about the face and you nailed it. I do find the additional crops, including Bruce's idea of a "little off the top". I find that if my eye wanders the slats nearest the building poinnt back to the child. Hopefully trying new boots. Great capture
