Image taken in Italy; 2 years ago; a country of home gardeners and their beloved Roma tomatoes. On a group walk through the small village, I lingered behind to take pictures of the red tomatoes; unaware that the gardener was in the garden. When I became aware of his silent presence, I adjusted my zoom to include him in the frame. He was gone and disappeared in a flash. Camera specs 1/4000 sec f/6.3 ISO 800, 115 mm. Image processed in Lightroom for global adjustments and cropped to a near-square in PS with an added vignette.

Gloria, this image has a surreal feeling with the old man and his white beard are fussy and soft giving the ghostly gardener presence. The tomatoes vine is sharp and with intense color, and the tomatoes are in different stages of ripeness. I think that the string and the amputated tomatoes become an important distraction, as well as the empty space with the dry branch opposite to the man, so I cropped the image to a portrait orientation 8 x 10. Gloria, the depth of field control helps make for the ghostly

I thought at first that this was a photo that was post-processed to look more like a painting. It is much more impressive that this was a single photo which captures the portrait-like image of the gardener as well as the tomatoes. Great story is here. The look of the man says a lot, Specially at these different time that we are living.
The natural light is great addition for the message of the photo and the colors are beautiful and harmonic.

At first sight, this looks like a ghostly portrait. The situation is twofold, is this about a portrait or a shot of a tomato plant with the farmer in the background. Isaac's crop is a great suggestion. Very nice colors to. Posted: 02/22/2021 06:42:19
