About the Image(s)

This image was taken this summer in city Sighisoara, Romania. Sighisoara is a beautiful medieval town and also is the city where was born (year 1431) and lived for a while the Prince of Wallachia - Vlad the Impaler (also known as Dracula)

Marius, nice night shot. The poorly illuminated street adds mystery to the image. The name of the cafe/restaurant honors the title of the image. There is human interaction which adds interest to the story. It is sharp. The water canal in the middle of the cobbled street works as a leading line towards the people at the end. We did visit the Bram Castle (dracula's castle) near Brasov in Transylvania.   Posted: 01/04/2021 20:07:50

Thank you Isaac. With this photo I participated at the end of 2020 in the FIAP World Cup for Clubs and with the score I received it had a small contribution to the very good result obtained by the Varadinum Foto Club of which I am part, more precisely the 12th place in the world.   Posted: 01/05/2021 04:11:30

A true street photo without a doubt. The night always has its own atmosphere. The scene in front is well iluminated and the light on the left of the wall creates a depth in the image. I was also in Sighisoara but not at night, so I missed something. Nice photo.   Posted: 01/18/2021 06:34:16

Marius, interesting history of this Romanian city. You caught this image at a transition time between dusk and nightfall which provides a nice contrast between the natural darks on the left and the illuminated man-made lights on the right. These two parts of the image are linked by the drain which forms a diagonal leading line which also connect the human figures on the street. There is a nice interplay between shadows and lights which enhances the architecture of the image. I am thinking that you may have used an f/stop of f/16 or so which gives the starburst on the lights. Congratulations of your placement - well deserved!!   Posted: 01/19/2021 06:46:22
