About the Image(s)

This image was taken 1 year ago in Italy with the following camera settings 1/200 f/5.6 ISO 800. These two clergy men were waiting while the rest of the procession had gone into the church. I saw this dog running into the scene out of the corner of my eye and started firing my camera. In PS I straightened and cropped the image and applied some contrast.

Gloria, obviously the two men are religious and belong to the same group. Interesting as how they are looking at a different direction, perhaps waiting for somebody/parade to pass by, and what happened, and not noticed by them, is the little dog entering into the frame adding interest and fun. The image is sharp. Good equilibrium between the men with the flag and pole creating some separation.   Posted: 09/05/2020 15:31:58

The photo is interesting, the opposite looks of the two priests makes you wonder what they were looking at, and the appearance of the dog is unexpected and makes the photo have a stronger composition forming a triangle with the three points of interest. Good catch Gloria!   Posted: 09/06/2020 08:47:50

Gloria, It is an interesting photo, I like that the two clergy are looking in different directions, perhaps they just don't want to see each other. I think I would like to see the cropping on the top brought down just so the balconies are not seen. I differ with the others about the dog. I would rather see just the clergy cropped in closer. I like to overall composition with the flag between them and each of them standing in front of two different doors. I took a closer look at the clergyman on the left, is he on a smoke break? Looks like a cigarette in his hand, a great classic look, but also not one that is thought of with clergy. Also he appears to be wearing jean and boot(?) under his vestments (see my look). I love your look and feel and you captured them well.   Posted: 09/14/2020 04:10:51

Other than the dog in the foreground (at least on my screen) the two priests, flag and backgound look almost painted in the scene. I like the way the two men are looking out of the image while the dog prances by without a care in the world.   Posted: 09/19/2020 18:40:07
