January 2020 - Street Band

About the Image(s)

Street Band was created a couple of years ago on a street parade in Miami Beach with the occasion of the inauguration of The Faena Hotel in Collins Avenue. There was a lot of groups all related to the musical and arts world, also with disguises. We got there early so we were in the first raw. It was a very concurred event. I used my Nikon D750 with the go around Nikkor Lens 28-300 mm f/4.5-5.6 @ 300 mm and with these settings: ISO 800, f/5.6 and 1/400 sec and with + 2/3 EC. The image was adjusted in Lightroom for white balance, light in the shadows, cropped and converted to B&W using Silver Effex 2

Isaac, I like the revelry of the group of three. Nice conversion to B&W with the whole tonal range in play. The blurred background brings and separates the main subject in the foreground. You can almost hear the sounds of his whistle and the horn.   Posted: 01/12/2020 16:37:06

I like the composition and the use of DOF. The conversion to B&W is a good action so the attention is fix to the main subject.   Posted: 01/16/2020 08:59:19

Great street photo. I liked it so much.
I liked the presence of three men in three different levels: front, middle and back.
The expressions are energetic and make you feel happy. The inverting to B&W is correctly done.

I really like the different expressions of the three marchers and the blurred background. Great composition. You could always darken the background a bit to make the center figure stand out more.   Posted: 01/23/2020 08:50:01
