Noodle Shop by Lauren Stewart

December 2019 - Noodle Shop

About the Image(s)

Noodle Shop in Chongqing, China. When traveling, I am interested not only in the different cuisines but also in the way they are prepared.
Shot on Canon 5D Mark IV. 24mm, f2.8, 1/640

Lauren, indeed this image is out of the ordinary. You were able to capture a vast variety of dishes all at once from your vantage point. The image is a little dark and has a good amount of digital noise specially in the dark areas (ISO not specified). Of course this noodle shop would not be approved for business by the FDA in te USA (wide open containers, dirty rag on the table top, no gloves on the food handler.....) but I am sure that it was very tasty.
I did add some light to the shadows, and use the color denoise sliders in ligtroom.   Posted: 12/09/2019 11:21:46

I like very much the point of view, so you can seen only the dishes and food without other disturbing elements. I agree with the adjustment of Isaac .   Posted: 12/13/2019 02:49:23

Interesting camera position, Lauren. I like the placement of the hand and chopsticks and all the circular items which contribute to make a cohesive image. Possible crop to the right of the image to tidy up the right edge of the frame? Were you on a bridge?   Posted: 12/18/2019 08:54:58

Interesting view with many circles of dishes. The colors are attractive and the lighting is pretty nice. The angle is proper to show the circles there, if a circle of blue color fire iof the oven is there, that would be more attractive.
Nice capture.   Posted: 12/21/2019 05:39:01

Very easy to take in the scene with your eye drawn to the chopsticks picking up the chicken. Nice vantage point. You might consider darkening the right and left borders to emphasize the main subject.   Posted: 12/28/2019 08:33:46
