About the Image(s)

Nikon D5000 ISO 200 36mm f/8 1/640 Lens: 18-55mm f/3.5 – 5.6

The image of the Sundial Bridge was captured in 2015 as we Redding California.

Another feature: the bridge “walk way” is made of glass.

Edits include global adjustments with some cropping then converted to b&w in Lightroom where I used the fine art preset and added a tonal filter.
I find the wasp nests distracting and could not clone out.

Dan, good example of a geometrical image with areas of shadows that crosses over the actual supporting wires creating an intricate figure. The black area may be a little large creating empty space, but gets confused with the black background of the screen. With regards to the wasp nests. I just darkened the whole shadowed area, and now it is less obvious, however; still present.   Posted: 03/09/2019 09:30:23

Dan..Great architectural image and almost abstract. I agree with Isaac's enhancements. I like the "sevens" which show up repeatedly in the posts and shadows and also framed by the black surrounding. Good range of tones from white to black make this an interesting image.   Posted: 03/17/2019 13:19:35

Very interesting image Dan! I like how you chose to edit in bw. The bw gives the image a more masculine feel to fit with the subject your shooting. I also like the different perspective of shooting "up". It creates a different feel for the photograph and really leads your eye to the edge of the photo. I also enjoy the geometrical shapes. Each time I look at the image, I see a different shape. Very nice.   Posted: 03/17/2019 18:25:44

Great photo Dan! I liked it so much. Very simple and very attractive. The geometric there with the soft light and the shadow of the wires are really interesting. In addition, the angle you have taken is good as you kept our eyes go deeper in the photo. Great editing and converting to bnw is beautiful.
Well done Dan!   Posted: 03/19/2019 11:32:56

It is a photography you need to look a longer time to discover all the geometrical forms and lines. That makes the difference between a quick consumption and a more interesting picture. Nice work.   Posted: 03/20/2019 13:08:48

I would have guessed antennas without reading your explanation. Nice composition and black and white rendition.
You could always select the area of the wasp nests and apply a dark tone to get rid of the distraction.   Posted: 03/27/2019 22:17:31
