Man in a Dark Corridor by Hassan Sadek, QPSA

March 2019 - Man in a Dark Corridor

About the Image(s)

I have taken this Doha/Qatar. It was nice opportunity to capture the man while he is passing through the light in the dark corridor. I have done little crop and some light/shadow enhancements.

the settings were: 1/100 sec. f/6.3 105mm, ISO: 1600

Hassan, this is another example of your mysterious images of people in the market, this time in color. The man is walking into the light making himself noticeable, but we do not see his face, therefore remain mysterious. Interesting way as how the pillars and the arch above him frames his presence. I would probably tone down the green signs above, and the white square on the side, since they are distracting elements.   Posted: 03/08/2019 08:49:45

Hassan..you captured the solitary figure in a sliver of light just enough to reveal details of his clothing. I like the frame of the arches which helps to focus on the subject and I also like the manganese blue hue of his clothing - an unusual color indeed!. I agree with Isaac's adjustments to remove the distracting elements.   Posted: 03/17/2019 13:03:27

Nice composition and framing Hassan. I like the complementary colors, and I like how you captured the light. The position of your subject in the left of the frame really draws me eye to him and makes me want to know more about where he is going and what he has been doing. I think this image also shows the character of the area Doha/Qatar area. Nice work!   Posted: 03/17/2019 18:22:38

Perfect composition with the person in the light beam . There is enough to see from the background to imaging the marketplace. The adjusments from Isaac makes the final result to a nice picture.   Posted: 03/20/2019 12:56:43

Agree with Isaac that the modern signs need to be edited.
You could always do a sepia version of Isaac's version to make it look more ancient and mysterious.   Posted: 03/27/2019 22:57:20
