About the Image(s)
Pulled this image from last summer when I visited a local Sunflower farm here in Marinette County, Wisconsin. I have passed over this shot several times because it is kind of soft. But I still like it; the color and shape, etc still grab my attention even after several months. Shot in natural light, hand-held. If I had it to do over again, I would use an aperture more like f11 to get more depth of field.
Shot with my Sony a6500, 90mm lens, at 1/160sec, f7.1, ISO 400.

Such a lovely image. I love the crop, rich colors and beautifully blurred background. You have nice details in the edges of the leaves even though the photo is soft (which really works here). My only suggestion is to darken or clone the two bright green spots on the right.   Posted: 01/12/2021 10:02:28
Thanks for the input Cindy. I agree, those green spots are distracting. I'm going to try to darken them and see if that helps.   Posted: 01/12/2021 11:06:21
Regarding the green spots, you could also just crop in a little. There is a lot of green background. I like the composition you have here as well. I also don't mind the softer petals. Great image!   Posted: 01/12/2021 11:14:05
Thanks Jessica: I didn't to crop anymore and lose those outer leaves but in hind site, a higher crop may be better than those hot spots.   Posted: 01/13/2021 13:08:48
