I took this at the MO Botanical Garden Orchid show. I enhanced the details and adjusted the contrast and exposure, as well as darkened the background. Settings: f/8, 44 mm focal length, 1/40 sec. and ISO 160. Taken inside without a flash.

I love the black background and the way the orchids float on the image, but I feel as if there is maybe too much background. I would crop in a little so the flowers don't get lost. I also like how you have some of the back edges of the flowers strat to lose themselves in the background. Posted: 01/12/2021 11:05:35
Very nice image Cindy. Even more so since it's with available light and I'm assuming hand held. I think the contrast between the white petals and black background work well for this subject. Might even work well in monochrome. Posted: 01/12/2021 11:17:08
