Prickly Cockell Shell by Cindy Lynch

June 2020 - Prickly Cockell Shell

About the Image(s)

To be honest, I saw a similar idea and thought this might be a good way to use the small drawer I had purchased earlier. I liked the details and contrast and thought the slight reflection helped to ground the drawer in the frame. Settings: f/5.6, 35 mm lens, 1/5 sec. and ISO 100 with a tripod.

I like it. It's fun. I like the contrast of textures on the shell and the box and then having it sit on the smooth counter. I also like the touch of blue from the paint on the top of the drawer. While this is far from monochromatic, it sort of has a monochromatic feel, so I like the little pop of color.   Posted: 06/11/2020 13:42:37

Lovely image Cindy. I like the touch of blue, it accentuates the warm colour of the cockle shell. What a great idea for composition, making it so much more than just a shell.   Posted: 06/21/2020 17:12:43
