About the Image(s)

Made this image at a camera club meetup, on floral photography. We set up several stations with black backgrounds. I use my Olympus Em-M1x, with the 60 mm macro lens. Set camera in Focus Stacking mode, used my cell phone light for the lighting, shot around half a second, on a tripod.
Processed with Capture One 12, and Photoshop 2019.

I really like the composition and I like the black background. I like that style when it comes to floral subjects. I have thought about how to successfully create a black background. What did you use as the backdrop? Did you then darken the background in post processing?   Posted: 01/14/2020 10:06:21

Thanks, I used a black cloth background and had the flower in a vase.   Posted: 01/14/2020 10:44:56

Your camera does a great job at focus stacking. I like that the flower is in an angle and the colors pop with the black background.   Posted: 01/19/2020 09:10:01

Great color, focus, and exposure. I like the black background and double orange strokes to frame it. The curve at the top of the flower makes the composition so appealing. Nicely done.   Posted: 01/24/2020 21:31:04
