About the Image(s)

Paul and I set up an area in one room for doing still life photography. Also, we signed up several weeks ago for home delivery of fresh vegetables and this was last weeks. I gathered a basket, arranged the vegetables and used window light. I placed the set up on a large black mat board that served as a sweep. In Photoshop made a selection, put in a few shadows and a textured background. All hand painted using the PS mixer brush.

Nice balance and the flow through the image with the arrangement is wonderful. The splash of orange provide a nice contrast to the duller colors. The side lighting is well done.   Posted: 04/12/2021 18:24:40

This very realistic still life looks good enough to eat, Nancy. The veggies have taken on a nice mellow glow. You got a lot of mileage out of Mixer Brush!   Posted: 04/18/2021 13:29:25

Great painting Nancy. I like the side lighting; and you know me, I pay attention to the shadows that are created. Your shadows are fantastic; especially below the front pepper and basket. I love that you paid attention to the entire background (with its Brayer strokes) and "floor". This attention to detail on the BG allowed the main subjects to take center stage. Your brush strokes on all the veggies are wonderful. My one small "nitpick" might be to paint over the white band on the beets (are those beets??).   Posted: 04/20/2021 10:41:21
