About the Image(s)

Trees reacting to Spring's light and temperatures bring forth a colorful collection of leaf buds. Combined with high key photography, this impressionist depiction illustrates the beauty along tree lines this time of year. This started as high key photography (shot at ISO 100, f/11, 1/80 sec.) and was processed in PS as such. I then used TopazStudio for Sketch and a couple of my Favorite presets for the painting. Instead of a white high-key background, I opted to have a faded color background with texture. This is my first outing with high key photography and I think the result was acceptable.

I absolutely agree that the result was "acceptable" - in fact, I'd go further and add that the result was "wonderful." To me, this now looks like a very delicate, Oriental, rice paper etching. I can honestly almost see the movement of the leaves/buds. Congratulations on a great work of art.   Posted: 05/07/2020 08:53:37

Very attractive. I often take pictures of trees and weeds like this. I find their unique shapes fascinating. I really like your choice to use the texture. Its slight nature details in the background complement the details in the tree. It also has a slight nature look to it. Excellent choice. I also feel your warm tones and selective editing were good choices. Nicely done.   Posted: 05/07/2020 19:32:26

I like the way the sprawling nature of the branch fills the space with delicate buds reaching for the sky. The pale pinkish background tone adds a feeling of warmth, of springtime. I also like the fact that the background is slightly textured, not just flat, suggesting a hint of clouds.   Posted: 05/09/2020 18:28:48
