About the Image(s)

This skeleton pirate was a display at a local Renaissance Fair. I thought of it as a painting right from the start. This was so much fun to paint!! I chose to paint a blue background to complement the blue of the vest. I had to freehand paint more coins and the coin pouch; as well as add the suggestion of a tabletop.

Wow, what an unusual subject matter but magnificently handled.
I can see why you were both challenged and found enjoyable the painting of it.
The background is so much better than the original.
A great outcome.   Posted: 01/07/2020 12:22:41

Terrific work in painting the scary subject. I like the way you handled the background colors and lighting.   Posted: 01/11/2020 20:26:37

You are so clever. I probably would have walked right by this. Creative image and painted beautifully. Nice work in adding the extra coins and eliminating the other details. Your brush strokes have a lovely emotional flow to them. Nicely done. Mixer Brush right?   Posted: 01/15/2020 10:55:04

Yup!! Entirely with the mixer brush. Background painted with Michelle's techniques of scrumbler and background breakup.   Posted: 01/15/2020 11:01:16

Creative is the understatement of the year. I often photograph things like this with great ideas and then when I sit down to work them actuality and dreams don't meet. Fabulous result.   Posted: 01/18/2020 15:59:14
