About the Image(s)

This is an image I took a few years ago at the San Diego Zoo and really enjoyed her expression , but it never did well using painting presets in the various digital software programs I have. I am currently studying PS Mixer Brush painting with Michelle Parsley and this image was done with just the Mixer Brush and is all hand painted. I like the fact, I was able to maintain the expression, but still need to perfect hair detail. Gave her a hair cut and reworked it several time, but just sending it on.

What a capture.
Such an expressive young girl.
I love the way she looks at the butterfly.
The smoothed out painted appearance of her face and hair work well.
You did an excellent complementary background.   Posted: 12/07/2019 17:22:28

Great job. I love all the textures in her shirt and how you worked the lower edges of the shirt into the background. And, I know it's not easy to extract the subject - you did a great job. I also love the pink color choice for the background. What a change from the original. This is a painting you deserve to be proud of.   Posted: 12/08/2019 08:18:58

You made the most of this candid shot and sweet expression by replacing the background with the purply-pink shade of her dress in a gauzy/dreamy style. Speaking of style, the hairstyle you gave her looks much more flattering in the final painting than the original. This is just adorable. You really mastered your mixer brush!   Posted: 12/26/2019 15:31:57
