About the Image(s)

Elephants dusting and little ones gasping for air is my submission.
I worked in layers and used a trial of Alien skin and a combination of PS cc.
I cropped the original.
All comments very welcome.

the painting effect is powerful and adds much more drama to the event. The dust looks so dramatic and your warning it up fro mthe original is a very good idea. the dark tow elephants and the baby elephant tell the story.

Beautifully done.   Posted: 08/08/2019 18:12:31

I absolutely love this painting. And I agree with Cyril that it's now the two dark elephants and the baby that demand our attention. The now semi-transparent elephant in the back adds excellently to the composition and the mood of the painting. Beautifully done, indeed.
Since a lot of the strong details are now muted in the painting, would it make sense to clone out the baby elephant under the bigger elephant. I believe we can see the trunk sticking out, but now have no other references that this baby is there. And, for me, the trunk sticking out of nowhere looks somewhat out of place.   Posted: 08/09/2019 14:07:14

Gerhard, your creative work in eliminating the one elephant on the left side to me appears to really enhance the composition. This is absolutely a beautiful painting.
I see what Cindy is referring to, but wonder if just bringing back into view a bit more of the baby's body would connect it a bit better with the other elephants.
Your skills in handling the software to create this effect is impressive. I particularly like the blue and yellow orange tones as they complement each so nicely. Just a stunning image.   Posted: 08/11/2019 16:17:06

Great work, Gerhard. Your brush work is much different than what you've used in the past, and I think it is effective in this stunning painting.   Posted: 08/11/2019 19:54:34

This is a really powerful image and I really like it!
You are lucky to live close to such action as you interpreted here!

I do agree with others that the small trunk should be removed, it seems to appear out of nowhere.   Posted: 08/20/2019 12:27:12

I think the small elephant's trunk needs to be there, as it is a real attention-getter, but you could support the idea that the little fellow is gasping for air in the dust cloud if we were able to distinguish a bit more of its little body under the larger animals. You did a wonderful job completing the painting by "dusting" the corner details away. Amazing shot, Gerhard!   Posted: 08/21/2019 17:45:30
