It took a minute to figure out what this is but once figured this is a great shot. When I first looked at it I could not unfocus from the eye it sucked me in and wouldn't let go. I love the detail, the softness of the feathers and the background, the colors, lighting and focus all meshed to make this a great photo. There is a piece of hair or feather on the eye that I would use spot remover to get rid of.   Posted: 04/08/2021 22:03:27
Thanks for the feedback, Samuel, I missed the feather across the eye. The first time my husband had a quick look he said it looked like a peperoni pizza!   Posted: 04/10/2021 01:29:54

Like Samuel, it took me a while to get oriented. Very clever image and quite interesting. The focus is sharp and the depth of field is good. What an incredible bird with such complexity. The startling red/brown head is so nicely outlined by the white feathers. Well done!   Posted: 04/20/2021 07:52:58

The detail and background are excellent. I wish the top wasn't quite a tightly cropped. Very good detail around the eye region. Guessing you must have had quiet the interesting outtakes photographing this subject.   Posted: 04/30/2021 14:41:19
