Empire State Building by Alec Chester

February 2021 - Empire State Building

About the Image(s)

This is a photo of one of my favorite buildings, the Empire State Building. I took the image with a Canon Rebel Camera at ISO 100, f/7.1, 1/125 sec at 55 mm. It was enhanced in Lightroom with minor adjustments and converted to sepia.

A nice image of the buildings framing the way to the Empire State building. It's all nice and sharp, the sepia tone enhances the image, great sky.   Posted: 02/09/2021 13:34:10

Very nice like how you framed it with the other buildings. I like the details in the foreground and the adjustment to sepia. I think if you had moved over to the left it would have given you a slightly better angle using the building on the right as part of the frame. Also, the middle section of the antenna on the Empire State building is blending into the background. Recommend increasing the separation between the tones to get some more detail in that area...   Posted: 02/11/2021 14:21:31

Nice to see a different perspective and sepia seems a good choice against the sky of dark clouds. Sharp details on the buildings, with the darker building at the right and the angle of the building at the left leading my eye to the famous landmark. Well done!   Posted: 02/11/2021 15:02:03

An interesting angle, well done. The image reminds me of the old black and white (grey toned) superman movies (showing my age)It's sharp throughout and the details are brilliant.
I do find it a little flat, perhaps you could consider a tad more contrast in the left building, that may help.   Posted: 02/12/2021 23:30:07
