Fall Reflection by Dennis Zhang

October 2020 - Fall Reflection

About the Image(s)

Here is my Image for Oct.

I took this image two days ago at Lake Placid of New York. My focus is on colorful tree and the reflection on lake.

Equipment: Canon 5D IV, 70-200mm line.

F13, 0.5S, ISO250.

I adjust the color in color selection of Photoshop.

I like the reflections, wish we could see more, i.e if you were another few feet in the air. You ended up with a centered horizon line, so I'm thinking the front grasses aren't helping the photo is my initial feeling. Really want to see that color pop along with the reflections. Might be able to go back in photoshop and do some more contrast adjustments to help the colors pop more.   Posted: 10/23/2020 12:10:57

Hi, Matt:

Agree with your comments for the reflection. It was my original thought, however, it was a very narrow place to have this photo shot. Thanks!   Posted: 10/29/2020 11:27:22

Like Matt says it would be great to see more of the reflections in the water, as this and the autumn colours is what the story this image is telling. Perhaps getting closer and not having the grass in the foreground would have helped.I agree with Matt a little more post processing to make the colours pop would be be great.   Posted: 10/23/2020 20:48:10

These are really great fall colors! Maybe more enhancement in Lightroom would make them even more dramatic. I agree with Matt's and Gail's other suggestions too. It is a very nicely done image of the trees in autumn.   Posted: 10/26/2020 06:55:37

I like this picture as shown. Yes you could enhance the colors even more but I don't think the picture needs that. I like the grasses in the foreground, the soft reflections in the water versus the dynamic colors of the trees. My only suggestion is to crop from the top to remove the sky in the right hand corner.   Posted: 10/28/2020 11:14:05
