About the Image(s)

“Goldfinch” shot with 6D Mk II using Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM @ 400mm @ 1/400sec., f/5.6 and ISO 200. Process included cropping, reduced highlights, reduced shadows and a vignette. Additional noise reduction and sharpening in Topaz DeNoise AI and Sharpen AI. A graduated redial filter further reduced brightness of background and added a slight purple complementing tent.

A great photograph of a Goldfinch. Very good highlight in the eye and details of the beak. The colors are very good, i like the details in the branch and leaves. nice smooth background, well done.   Posted: 05/15/2020 19:42:44

Very good shot especially with the texture in the leaves to the left. The beak and the finches eye are sharp but the actual bird seems soft compared to the rest of the picture.   Posted: 05/17/2020 10:36:22

Nice sharpness in eye and beak. Beautiful bright yellow of the bird stands out against the faded background. The large yellow leaf seems to complement the yellow of the bird, but it also pulls my eye in that direction. I think cropping just to the right of the yellow leaf would keep my attention on the beautiful Goldfinch.   Posted: 05/19/2020 14:25:35

Very sharp and beautiful image! I like the color and I'd vote in favor of the yellow/green leaves that, I think, provide some balance. The blurred background draws attention to the finch. Nice job at taking such a good shot at, what I assume, was a fair distance.   Posted: 05/20/2020 06:20:12
