Tyrolean Marching Band by Alec Chester

October 2019 - Tyrolean Marching Band

About the Image(s)

Here is an image of a Tyrolean band playing in northern Italy. It was taken with a Canon 5D Mark IV at 1/800 sec, f/5.0, ISO 100, at 105 mm with a 24-105 mm lens. I used minor corrections in Lightroom to enhance it: contrast, clarity, texture and dehaze.

Wow, what a fun picture. I'm guessing you had a devil of a time trying to post process this image with the brass reflection. In my opinion you nailed that part of the challenge. To me the colors are stunning and the primary subject is sharp. I think the depth of field is just right to contribute context to the story. I really like the addition of the reflection in the bell of the tuba. It made me smile.

Interesting composition. Don't know that I would have thought of cropping it this way, but it definitely works well for ypu. The tiba wouldnhave been quite a challenge I think. Was there a polarozing filter on your lens at all ?   Posted: 10/10/2019 22:38:03
