Eagle by Ron Clegg

October 2018 - Eagle

About the Image(s)

Eagle, was shot at a local Wild Birds Unlimited store. In partnership with the Howell Nature Center, in Howell Michigan. They also had a Kestrel, Turkey Vulture and a Screech Owl . The handler was very knowledgeable, and told us all about the birds. They all had been injured in the past. The photograph is a composite done with Topaz Remask. Nikon D750 ISO 1600, Nikon 24-85mm lens f5.6 @1/125 sec.

Knowing this is a composite as you described, you did a great job as the photo seems seamless. Overall a good image with a striking pose, seems the top of the eagle's head is on the overexposed side as there isn't much detail there.   Posted: 10/24/2018 15:07:54

Great image and very sharp! The Topaz Remask Photoshop work looks seamless. Pulling back on the whites and/or highlights on the top of the eagle's head would bring out more detail.   Posted: 10/24/2018 15:51:20

Topazlabs.com has some good applications.   Posted: 10/24/2018 21:58:39

Your composite is indeed seamless, the active pose is terrific, and the background gives it extra pop. More detail on the eagle's head would be a plus.   Posted: 10/26/2018 16:33:15
