About the Image(s)
Working on my theme of blended waves again this month. These images were taken in Hawaii with a friend's neutral density filter mid day. I loved how I could get blurred waves mid day. The image without the crane is very peaceful and may stand alone nicely. Do you feel the bird adds to the image? What do you think about its size (I enlarged it slightly)? Placement?Do you like the white glow around the bird or does this distract? (the bird is slightly pixelated in this low resolution copy so try to imagine it being a bit crisper in the full version)

I enjoy your composites with waves. You do a very good job of creating beach scenes that begin as reality. I took the liberty of replacing the bird with a man looking out to sea and changing the B & W to color. I feel that color brings more life to the splash against the rock, and to answer your questions about the bird, I feel it really doesn't add much.   Posted: 04/09/2021 17:27:55
Brad, I really like the mood and the tones in this piece.
To answer your question about the bird... I think there needs to be a better balance between the rocks and the birds so I added the entire original photo for you to compare and see if it makes a difference to you.
Not a technically good edit but just for you to think about the balance.

I agree with the comments about the bird from Alan and Kathy.
The sea is the prime attraction. The bird with the glow behind it competes with the sea. I like Alan's idea of a man facing the sea. It adds but does not compete.   Posted: 04/10/2021 17:27:04
