About the Image(s)

Less is more! Or is it?
After I placed the woman and umbrella on the beach I wondered if there was too much empty space. Then I added the boat and painted it yellow.
Does the boat detract the viewer from the main subject? Am asking for your opinion.

To answer your question, I find the boat less distracting than the part of the anatomy that is peaking out from behind the umbrella. The bright yellow umbrella certainly attracts the eye and the beach scene is refreshing and inviting, but for my taste a naked bottom is too much of a distraction.   Posted: 11/06/2020 17:11:48

I like the yellow in the boat. I find the edges of the legs against the water rather distracting. You might want to clean up the edges a bit. The composition itself is an interesting idea.   Posted: 11/08/2020 16:51:16

I quite like this, Aavo. It made me laugh, and it's got a very straightforward composition that I enjoy very much.
The colors are great, especially the yellow of the umbrella and the boat.

Personally, I would have angled the umbrella towards the boat, or put the man on the left and the boat on the right. But that's a minor consideration for me. Thanks for a smile-inspiring image!   Posted: 11/09/2020 17:15:23

Hi Peggy, I like your idea of switching the boat and the figure. By the way the model was a very well shaped Woman.
A man would not have such nice legs.   Posted: 11/10/2020 17:45:49

Aavo, This is an interesting composition. I was also distracted by the jagged edge of the left leg. The yellow umbrella and partially exposed bottom creates an interesting tension but can understand Alan's concern. I think the boat works.   Posted: 11/09/2020 22:45:32

A very fun idea with interesting elements.
I'm distracted by the compositing and think it should be easy to clean up the elements so they blend better (unless that is part of your plan to create tension)
