About the Image(s)

I have made several attempts to use the dead tree before with no success. In fact I have lost the original and have only the tree without the background. I decided to use the tree with a biblical motif. The background is a scene from Corsica and the nude from a photo shoot. The main problem as usual was to get the shadows coordinated.

Certainly a photogenic tree and I can understand you wanting to use it. I think it interesting in this story though because it is so stark I might have put a desert setting behind it. That would make the only fruit even more desirable.   Posted: 09/04/2019 12:04:45

Aavo, The message is very clear here. I wonder if you added a little mystery to the story as it doesn't challenge the viewer to go deeper into the message. The tree woman and apple all appear unreal. If you are trying for realism it would take more work to blend. If you are trying to capture something more magical you may want to take it a bit further.   Posted: 09/08/2019 20:57:51

Thanks Brad. Good comments.Since this has a Biblical source I should make it more mystical. How? Any ideas?   Posted: 09/09/2019 13:12:34

Aavo, Sorry I didn't see your response. It you want to have someone get a message that you've replied you should hit the reply tab under their message and it will then go directly to them. It doesn't look like anything happens as you still have to type in the box below. Anyway, it looks like you've gotten some good feedback. I like Peggy's background as it creates a Leonardo DeVince type effect. The models hand stretching up to the apply is so striking. I would try to focus attention on that section of the image by downplaying the background   Posted: 09/25/2019 12:47:41

I agree with brad. Your image is somewhere between fantasy and reality. To answer your question to Brad, "Let there be light." Think of putting the woman and the tree in the Garden of Eden surrounded by desert with some sort of mystical light highlighting the "tree of knowledge of good and evil." Perhaps devil/angel type images that appear on cartoon characters' shoulders as they try to make a choice. Eve certainly looks tentative when she reaches for the apple.   Posted: 09/22/2019 18:15:09

I think you've got some really good feedback here, Aavo.
I really like the tree and the woman. Great interaction between them. Her pose somehow echos the placement of the branches of the tree.
After reading Betty and Brad's comments, I was thinking that it might be interesting to try it with an abstract textured background. I didn't compose it as well as you did, just sort of roughed out the idea .   Posted: 09/24/2019 23:33:50
