About the Image(s)
Canon R5, ISO 2000, 1/1000s, f8, 280mm - Hand Held. Polarizing filter.
Taken from Whidbey Island looking across Puget Sound at the Olympics. I could get the bird in focus, the mountains in focus - but not both at the same time. So this is 2 photos put together in Affinity Photo. I was too cold to get out my tripod so shot handheld.
Photo is pretty blue. I tried adjusting color balance but it made it look too yellow. It was definitely more dynamic in real life.
All suggestions are welcome. I don’t shoot a lot of landscapes like this.

Dan, I think you have a winner. I like the blueness of the image. I think cropping off some of the left side might be an improvement. What do you think? Image would not copy for whatever reason. I'll try later.   Posted: 02/08/2021 18:51:25
Nice change in the color version Miriam.   Posted: 02/10/2021 00:41:25
Good job! Even though I'm a huge monochrome fan, I think I slightly prefer the blue image. It gives more of a mood.   Posted: 02/09/2021 08:19:21
The updated sky looks better. Thanks.
I had tried B&W, but the blue added another dimension. As Miriam said - you can feel the cold.   Posted: 02/09/2021 10:01:22

Beautiful Capture. If you reduce highlight from top right corner might be look good.   Posted: 02/10/2021 13:27:09
Thanks - I agree on the highlights.   Posted: 02/10/2021 13:29:00
I love the blue version, but am having difficulty with the image because of the strong contrast between the exposure of the upper part of the image and the lower part with the bird.   Posted: 02/16/2021 11:20:23
Love it, and especially the crop to remove much of the bird layer. The color cast is certainly a puzzler here, so I decided to try Brenda's typical approach, going monochrome, since this is pretty much there already. By going to shades of grey, the various zones get their own prominence. I also removed some distracting elements in the treeline and the boat at the left side of ther water. Thoughts?   Posted: 02/20/2021 14:35:18
Thanks Tom - I think you hit the right tones.   Posted: 02/24/2021 09:44:54
