Same trip as the image for last month - still finding gems in a lost folder.

You know the drill by now: post your version of post-processing this image, including detailing the steps you took with it (don't skimp on this part). Later in the month, when everyone has had a chance to post their results, I'll post mine and we'll see how close or far apart all the results are. d;¬{D

I'll accept the challenge. First I straightened the horizon. Then I cropped, eliminating the dark area at the far left. Finally I applied sprayed strokes filter to give the clouds more definition and enhance the reflection on the water. What do you think? (After thought, I think these past months have quashed our creative spirits.) Appreciate the challenge.   Posted: 10/21/2020 23:56:21

Very creative spin, Rusty! Becomes more painterly and gently brings the viewer's focus onto the setting sun. I think it very much enhances the look.   Posted: 10/23/2020 00:16:48

Having completely missed the purpose of this until Tom reminded "us", I went to work on this image.. As others had suggested, starting with straightening, then cropping to eliminate some of the sea and to improve the proportions. Then i applied a graduated filter to bring out more of the sky tones. Then i tried to eliminate the lens dust spots and gave up and sent the image to my phone where i used touch retouch to get rid of the spots and mextures and brushstrokes to augment the mood.   Posted: 10/26/2020 07:57:50

You came the closest to my result with this. I'm still learning how to do image apps on my tablet, so you're way ahead of me. d;¬{D   Posted: 10/26/2020 17:00:40

here it is with the basic changes before the iphone apps were applied.. i am not sure why it got so green.. and it looked sort of dull.. which is why i went for the drama in the version featured above which is perhaps too hot.   Posted: 10/26/2020 07:59:25

As it appears nobody else is planning to play along, here is my finished image based upon the original. After leveling and cleanup, I played with the colors, trying to bring this closer to the colors I remember seeing on that evening. What do y'all think?   Posted: 10/26/2020 17:02:29

I love it! Maybe a little dark on the right?   Posted: 10/26/2020 17:12:31

Agree with Arabella on the darkness at the right.I'd crop about a fourth off.   Posted: 10/26/2020 18:13:36
