About the Image(s)

Been playing about with phone photography lately (iPhone 11 Pro). We live near the fishing village of Howth and it never disappoints for a photo opportunity. This was taken yesterday while we were out for a walk and a coffee. The trawler was coming into the harbour surrounded by gulls & gannets. All edits done in Luminar 4

Quite a scene!!! Good crop. We might be able to enjoy the boat and the birds it it were closer to us or maybe cropped in a bit more..   Posted: 09/07/2020 13:11:45

Beautiful place . You can try scale option to zoom the boat . But the problem is the boat is not sharp as it should be . maybe for low shutter . I wish i can fly drone here to take some photos :)   Posted: 09/07/2020 21:55:17

The boat, which is the subject is lost in the water. I like your second image better. I did some cropping. How do you like it?   Posted: 09/16/2020 18:32:21

I agree that a bit more cropping to get the boat closer/larger strengthens the image. But I also love that dramatic sky. This looks to be a good candidate for monochrome and you could really add drama there.   Posted: 09/17/2020 09:23:21

I'd go even more dramatic. This may be a little too much, but you get the idea.   Posted: 09/18/2020 10:49:17

I sorta combined most of the suggestions by: enlarging the boat & cropping a bit from top, left and bottom to strengthen the composition and give a little more presence to the boat. Also removed a few tiny distractions: the jet & the bouy.   Posted: 09/17/2020 16:20:44

I like the composition. The crops help. I like what Tom did above. The B&W is interesting - but it highlights the lack of sharpness.
I liked the plane and might have added it back in.   Posted: 09/18/2020 10:01:41
