About the Image(s)

This image of a juvenile bald eagle was taken at Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge the same day as last month's image of the bison. We were on our way out of the refuge when we spotted the eagle right above the road, about 12’ overhead. He didn’t move as we backed up and opened the car doors to get some shots. The sky was pretty bland, so after basic processing in Lightroom, I took the image into Texture Effects to add some interest. Some people may say I should have more room on the left where the eagle is looking, but I like the graphics of the branch and wanted to include that.

I like the was the branch frames him too. Maybe a slightly tighter crop would work keeping the branch in would work   Posted: 06/10/2020 08:03:00

Good eye to spot him/her. I tried a tighter crop. I might have tried a tighter crop on the top, but I liked the darker blue that was showing.   Posted: 06/10/2020 10:53:50

Benda, I like the branch. It frames the bird nicely. Did you consider enhancing its eye? Nice capture. You caught some great shots that day.   Posted: 06/12/2020 01:05:03

I agree with the other regarding the nice framing from the branches. It does seem to me that everything is cramped up against the left edge of the image, which causes a visual discomfort to the viewer.

I played around with it and added some canvas to the left and cropping some from the right and bottom. Thoughts?   Posted: 06/12/2020 13:07:49

the positioning that Tom has achieved by adding space above the bird takes the image from ordinary to really exciting. VEry nice capture and excellent editing   Posted: 06/20/2020 19:07:31
