About the Image(s)

I took this with my phone and then brightened it up with lightroom on my laptop and then played with it in several phone apps - snapseed mextures and distressed. I was looking for the “look” of Hudson River style of painting and Currier and Ives prints. Clearly I must have had time on my hands or was not paying much attention to whatever was going on in some meeting or other!

Great job. Your edits make it a completely different (and better) image vs. the original. The colors in the trees really pop, and the reflection of the clouds in the river are very nice. Good job on the crop.

I love what you did with this! You transformed a fairly ordinary image into something special. It has a great mood.   Posted: 11/16/2019 08:53:06

thank you!!! It would not have been possible without those apps on my phone... or the fact that the meeting i was attending was soooo long and soooo boring.   Posted: 11/16/2019 10:11:37

You've turned an ordinary snapshot into a gorgeous painting suitable for hanging.   Posted: 11/16/2019 15:28:14

You've made an 'Old Master' painting out of a lovely scene and managed to eliminate the blown highlights in the sky (top left). The Hudson Valley in the fall is one of my favourite places. Nice work   Posted: 11/17/2019 12:09:39
