About the Image(s)

Specs: Samsung Galaxy S6, F1.9, 1/60s, ISO 50, Handheld, Natural Light

Captured at a family fourth of July party. I looked over a spied this tiny praying mantis cautiously walking along the chain-link fence and pulled out my smartphone. I snapped a lot of pics, but liked this one for its potential. I reversed it, cropped & cleaned up the background. For a better sense of size, Original 2 shows it on the back of my hand. Suggestions?

Good job on flipping the image. I never think about that.
Too bad it was at f1.9. The body looks sharp - but the head looks out of focus.   Posted: 10/10/2019 12:47:52

I don't have much control over my phone's camera settings, unfortunately. Yes, the head isn't in focus as much as I'd like, but at least it is enough to be recognizable.   Posted: 10/14/2019 15:58:37

I've rarely seen a face-on view of a praying mantis, so this is cool! The head is decently sharp and the soft background works well. It makes a good color contrast, too.   Posted: 10/19/2019 07:57:23

love it!! and you can do selective focal points on your iphone by tapping the spot you like on the screen which will give you a highlightd outline and a slider for exposure too   Posted: 10/19/2019 09:42:50
