Yoke by Arabella Dane

January 2018 - Yoke

About the Image(s)

This is a photo of one of the yokes used for oxen. I took it at the Sandwich Fair this fall. The yoke was lying on hay bales next to the huge oxen and I loved the texture and color of the wood against the hay. I used an app called color splash to eliminate the colors in the background, and then thumbed in/restored the colors on the yoke. The faded blue paint and the metal parts were so “vintage” and hand crafty. I did some vignetting to hide a nasty blue tarp in the background.

Nice color. I like the angle of the shot and the post processing.   Posted: 01/18/2018 19:01:46

You did a great job with your post-processing of this image, removing the distracting elements and helping the eye to focus on your subject. Have no suggestions for improving on a fine image, Arabella! It's a keeper!!!   Posted: 01/21/2018 12:34:04
