About the Image(s)

The image was taken handheld, using my Canon 5d Mark III, with my Tamron 180mm Macro lens. I used the ambient light, which was in the shade, but with nice soft natural lighting.
The settings were f11, 1/320th sec, and ISO 3200. Because of the high ISO, I used Define 2.0 to remove noise. I added some contrast through Pro Contrast in Color Efex 4 and I adjusted basics in LR. Other than that, just some minor sharpening in LR.

Carol, this is an AMAZING image! The subjects are tack sharp and highlighted by the stark white background. The colors are wonderful. I would not change a thing. WONDERFUL!!   Posted: 08/08/2019 19:05:47

Oh Carol, what a sharp image you have captured. The colors, the composition, and the nature story are all strong. This is a winning image and I can think of nothing to change.   Posted: 08/12/2019 07:30:39

Kudos, Carol! In my opinion the lighting is perfect and the composition is simple with nothing to distract from the subject. I am amazed that you were able to get it so sharp without any fill flash. If this isn't a winning nature image I do not know what is!   Posted: 08/13/2019 10:48:30

Wonderful image. Sharp, clear and well presented. The eyes and each hair are magnificent. I wouldn't change a thing.
I do have a question though. Did you use any extender tubes to get such a wonderful image or was it just the 180 macro?   Posted: 08/19/2019 19:45:44
