About the Image(s)

waiting for my wife in a knitting shop this display of ribbons stopped me. The original was too busy but I felt I could make something of it by trying to focus on the word LOVE (see Original). So I cropped greatly and then used the Blur and Vignette tools in Snapseed to bring the eye closer to the word. That blur tool is so useful because you can locate it just where you want to. Some other usual touch ups in Snapseed were added.

Nice work Sol. Your creativity continues to amaze me. Keep those juices going. It is truly great to walk around with our spouse and find little landscapes and still life in other places we name not have normally seen. Jerry   Posted: 04/05/2021 15:28:01

Very nice image. Lots of Easter colors and repeating shapes. Well seen. I will suggest an alternative edit - not necessarily better, just an alternative: convert the original to BW, increase contrast, crop square, and add a little vignette. It think it might be interesting to remove the distraction of the colors. Just a thought.

I am glad you explained your reasoning in creating this image. I did not understand the blur since I didn't see the word love as the "focus" of the image. Would a tighter crop work? I think Bob's crop square might do it.   Posted: 04/10/2021 09:37:25

I like the idea of creating a large B&W space around the word. That would help focus the eye on that spot even more than the blur or vignette.   Posted: 04/10/2021 09:42:00

I thought everybody's idea of going to B&W was good so here's a version of that.   Posted: 04/10/2021 14:05:28

Good eye for spotting a photograph in this dizzying conglomerate of colors and shapes. My eye immediately went to the word love so your blurring and editing paid off. Well done.   Posted: 04/11/2021 16:44:30

It continues to amaze me what others find to photograph that I would just walk by. Good eye Sol. I do like the conversion to mostly B&W as it decreases the amount of colorful ribbons that catch the eye and move it away from "love."   Posted: 04/11/2021 17:10:17
