November 2020 - I Am Pointing At You

About the Image(s)

I shot this with the iPhone 11 Pro Max in the telephoto mode and Night Mode. I held very still and got what I was after. A portrait like image with the background out of focus and bright enough to see the image. The setting was about 5:30 PM and in the dark. No flash and just the night mode which took 2 or 3 images and automatically combined them to get this effect. Snapseed was used to sharpen and give more clarity (Structure) to the face. It was a vertical shot and I did do a little cropping. It truly hard to believe that it was dark outside. 2 friends were there also shooting with me and using flashlights to light their subjects. This was hand held. Suggestions and comments are always welcome. Jerry

Disregard the original image. I have contacted tech staff for assistance.

When did we start allowing selfies?
More seriously, what a great demonstration of the power of night mode. You keep tempting us to upgrade to better phones by showing what can be done with them.   Posted: 11/04/2020 11:04:04

Dick, the new iPhone 12 ProMax is really going to be something great. Longer telephoto lens, Larger sensor that will do more justice with the super wide angle lens, image stabilization, and even better night mode. Go for it. We adults need our toys. Give you other phone to one of your daughters or grandchildren.   Posted: 11/06/2020 16:39:08

Thanks Dave. It is truly amazing what we can do with our cameras in our pockets. You have proven that over and over. Thanks again for all that you are doing. Jerry   Posted: 11/06/2020 16:30:36

I can't believe this was taken in the dark and hand held, amazing. I need to go phone shopping! A great job capturing this scary subject as well as giving me a nudge.   Posted: 11/07/2020 20:23:59

Fun image with nice subject isolation from the background. It is amazing how much mobile device cameras have improved in a short time. I suppose we can expect even more improvements as new devices become available.   Posted: 11/08/2020 20:03:17
