Tall Trees by Sol Blechman

November 2020 - Tall Trees

About the Image(s)

This was all processed in Snapseed. Crop, Structure, etc. The one new ingredient, for me anyway, was the purchase of a $12 stylus from Amazon to use on the iPad (or phone). Worked right out of the box. I wanted to use it with the Brush tool on the very hot area at the bottom of the tree. My finger would have driven me crazy attempting it there. I guess I never realized how useful the stylus could be.

This image is cheerful since the walker is heading into the sunlight and the tall trees provide a nice frame.
Thanks for the stylus tip. Can you tell us which one you used?   Posted: 11/04/2020 11:19:27

The stylus is from Meko and cost about $12. They have several on the web site...mine is black.   Posted: 11/04/2020 17:40:53

I hope this will show a difference. Small, I think but helpful.   Posted: 11/05/2020 16:29:25

Keep me informed about your progress. I'm learning how that plastic disc works.   Posted: 11/05/2020 18:48:11

Excellent composition. The trail starting in the corner, placing a person on the trail really adds to the size of the trails, placing person in an area where the background is bright works well here. Good job. Thanks for the information on the stylus.   Posted: 11/06/2020 15:27:07

I'm glad you had a person on the trail to give perspective of how tall the trees are. Nice light and shadow. I too will have to look into the stylus. Thanks for sharing the original.   Posted: 11/07/2020 20:42:40

Very nice forest scene made stronger with the inclusion of the person which gives scale to the trees. I need to update my iPad to one that can use a stylist. Maybe a Christmas present for myself... Nice shot.

The tall trees, small dark figure and creeping shade kind of hint at a foreboding. The glimmer of light at end of trail hold out some hope. Thoughtful story telling photograph.   Posted: 11/11/2020 13:13:48

Sol, I am so late commenting on your image, but I love it! The lonely walker makes this image.

If you want a little idea, I would probably use the Retouch clone tool and take out the bright area in the bottom right corner area. Jerry   Posted: 11/23/2020 06:17:46
