Keep Off Jetty by Lynne Royce

March 2020 - Keep Off Jetty

About the Image(s)

Of course the sign doesn't work as many love to climb and walk towards incoming waves on slippery rocks. Took photograph with my trusty Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and processed in Snapseed during winter day walk along a Jersey Shore beach. Bore my family by taking, editing and texting pixs during my walks. Love the immediacy of seeing and taking pixs and texting it minutes later for immediate feedback.

Love the image and so glad you use Mobile photography for what others is still a dream. YES!

Interesting that you image does not show the season and could be used for any season. Wonderful tonality.   Posted: 03/03/2020 09:14:18

The keep off sign doesn't look very official and Jersey shore's jettys are attractive to bathers, fishermen and birders, so probably hopeless warnings. Your image nicely shows why.   Posted: 03/05/2020 16:55:53

I like that the sign seems handmade. I agree that it probably isn't completely effective that way. However, as you mention an official-looking sign might not do any better these days. Nice capture of the seashore and the sign adds extra interest. Nice shadows. I like the breaking wave, too.   Posted: 03/07/2020 10:56:32

Definitely a home made sign put up by well meaning soul. It's in a good position in the frame. Nice colors throughout.   Posted: 03/08/2020 17:25:48

The sign with bright red color draws my imagination, who placed the sign, are they trying to be selfless, etc. Good choice on the placement of a straight horizon. Nice.   Posted: 03/09/2020 21:31:20

For me the sign really makes the image. The bright colors and handmade character are right on. Great detail from front to back. I am often reminded by these types of photos to not just walk by but stop and capture the moment. Good job.   Posted: 03/13/2020 13:53:01
