Letchworth State Park by Lynne Royce

November 2019 - Letchworth State Park

About the Image(s)

Just returned from vacation in upper New York State where visited Letchworth State Park, known as "the Grand Canyon of the East". This is one of the three waterfalls created in the park by the Genesee River. Unfortunately leaves hadn't turned yet. Waterfall flowing under a new railroad bridge. Shot with trusty Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and edited in Snapseed.

Nice capture. The arc in the mist traces the arc of the bridge down to the water. The column of mist rises up at the center of the bridge. Good stuff. It's a fall calendar shot.   Posted: 11/08/2019 08:34:01

Neat geological formation with the water racing over the edge. The mist characteristics as described by Bob, make for a unique photo.   Posted: 11/08/2019 16:05:11

A beautiful image with a hint of fall in the trees. I wonder if the arches in the lower left would show as rainbows with a polarizer. It might be a fun experiment to try using a polarizer in front of the phone camera lens. Great composition with nice leading lines.   Posted: 11/11/2019 10:33:52

This is a great shot of a place I visit from time to time. When did the new go in? Usually I would hate that, but here it makes for a unique image that you captured beautifully.   Posted: 11/11/2019 15:34:57

Had to ask my husband, a railroad buff, about when new railroad bridge went in and he said maybe last year or year before.   Posted: 11/15/2019 07:18:41
