About the Image(s)

Another shot with the 7+ and OLLO Clip Fisheye lens. Reached out with the iPhone on a Selfie Stick and took the photo. Then was told no Selfie Sticks. No problem, I had taken about 50 images and got what I wanted.

The strange fabric hanging going up the center from the Skylight down to the bottom floor was interesting. I left the people in the Photo to give a sense of scale. Really not much color so I converted the image to B/W in Snapseed.

This image was only possible with the Fisheye lens. I darkened the four corners to keep the eyes in the staircase.

What a great curve and the people help a lot to give scale. B&W was a good choice.I could do without the "hanging" thing although you can't have it your way all the time. Do you usually walk around with extra lenses for the phone?   Posted: 01/05/2018 15:27:34

I had no idea that the fisheye could look this good! I will have to see where I could use one! The contrasty black and white is very effective as are the dark figures against the light background.   Posted: 01/05/2018 22:45:16

Very interesting architecture. I'm not sure about the fabric in the middle but some things you just can't change. B/W works really well in this image and the people add perspective. Glad you got the shot before they banned your selfie stick.   Posted: 01/07/2018 16:22:01

What strikes me is the large, S shape that is so dominant. The individuals in different locations give it depth and the photojournalism effect. Good eye!   Posted: 01/07/2018 17:52:30

I like black and white. That treatment, the subject, and the composition make me think about film and the photographers of the days before digital. Because of that, I might have added some grain to get a tri-x feeling. As the others have commented, it's a very nice image.   Posted: 01/08/2018 23:35:42

Your phone, fisheye lens, selfie stick and photography skills did magnificent job of capturing this intriguing staircase. Wonder why they prohibit selfie stick? Hanging sculpture proclaims contemporary art theme extremely well. Beautifully seen and captured.   Posted: 01/10/2018 17:03:40

I like the overall effect. Has a sort of Cartier "girl on the staircase" look. I'd remove the distracting intrusions on the left edge so my focus isn't drawn away from the intended areas (maybe it's just my left-handedness, but my eye keeps drifting over there). After I cleaned up the edge I still saw the ceiling "ornaments" so I took those out too. Hey, it's only pixels, right? Would love to hear what you think.   Posted: 01/25/2018 08:07:34
